Our children are our future

With support from people like you, we can provide for the safety and wellbeing of the children at Orfanato Niño de Cristo while securing a brighter future for them. Orphaned and vulnerable children face many challenges including malnutrition, lack of health care services, and limited access to education. Your donations close the gap and help us provide food, education, health care, life skills, and job training for the children in our care. Together, we can provide for a bright future for these children.

Learn More about Orfanato Niños de Cristo

Founded in 1993 in La Romana, Dominican Republic, Orfanato Niños de Cristo consists of two orphanages housing orphaned and vulnerable children. Many of these children have been victims of abuse and abandonment. Regardless of their nationality, we are dedicated to improving the lives of the children we receive with open arms – focusing on education, health, and housing.

We focus on what matters most.

You can help make a difference.

Nutrition

Five percent of the population in the Dominican Republic does not have access to adequate food to meet their basic energy needs.

We provide children with proper nutrition for their growing bodies and minds.

Life Skills

Almost 1.5 million people in the Dominican Republic live on less than $5.50 a day.

We build self-confidence, teach life skills, and job training to help give a hand up, not a handout.

Education

Twenty-one percent of children aged 15-24 do not complete primary education.

We provide primary and secondary education as well as scholarships for continuing education.

Statistics:

"More than a third of the Dominican Republic lives on less than $1.25 a day and over 20 percent of the country lives in extreme poverty."
